Objective: 

This course will enable students to gain practical knowledge of derivatives trading, market analysis, investment portfolio design, EMI calculation, and Tally software.

On completion of this course, the students will be able to

  1. Develop a comprehensive personal financial plan, incorporating budgeting, tax planning, and credit management to enhance financial decision-making..
  2. Analyze derivatives trading and settlement processes on NSE to track market movements and assess risk management strategies.
  3. Construct and evaluate a diversified investment portfolio using risk-return analysis and asset allocation strategies for optimal financial growth.
  4.  Compare and design insurance and retirement plans to ensure financial security and long-term wealth management.
  5. Conduct fundamental and technical analysis to evaluate market trends and make informed investment decisions.
  6. Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, White board teaching, Demonstration of Fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis, Calculation of investment amount using MS EXCEL and construction of portfolio thereafter

 

Learning activities for the students: Role-Playing Exercises, Online Banking Simulation, Case Analysis, Derivative strategies

• Role Play: Financial advisor and client discussion on budgeting, tax planning, and credit management.
• Filing a simulated income tax return (ITR) and reporting on common tax-saving instruments.
