Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

CO 176 Acquire knowledge about various investment avenues and alternative investment options available in the financial markets

CO 177 Students will analyse the factors that led to various Indian securities market scams and will critically evaluate the remedial measures taken.

CO178 Students will experience the dynamics of the stock market in a risk-free environment through simulations.

CO 179 Build ability to comprehend various techniques of Fundamental Analysis of securities/ Companies/ IPO

CO 180 Students will research and analyse different investment options available and will be able to construct required portfolio based on risk tolerance, investment goals, and diversification of the investor

Group discussion / Presentations on various investment avenues and on Alternative Investment options available in India and in International financial markets. With special reference to Tax saving options

Students can study real-life scams and frauds that occurred in the Indian securities market, such as the Satyam scam or the Harshad Mehta scam etc. They will analyse the factors that led to these incidents, the impact on investors, and the measures taken to protect investor interests. Students will discuss the role of regulatory authorities and the importance of investor protection regulations

Students can participate in a stock market simulation game. They will be provided with virtual money to invest in stocks of their choice. Throughout the simulation, students will track their investments, analyze market trends, and make buy/sell decisions based on their understanding of the fundamentals of investing. This exercise will allow students to experience the dynamics of the stock market in a risk-free environment.

Students can perform a fundamental analysis of a publicly traded company. They will research and analyze financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to evaluate the company's financial health and performance. Students will assess key financial ratios, industry trends, competitive positioning, and management effectiveness to make an informed investment recommendation.

Mock exercise/roll play of Portfolio construction and risk diversification for different types of customers. Investment Portfolio Creation: Students can be assigned a project to create an investment portfolio. They will research and analyze different investment options such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.They will consider factors like risk tolerance, investment goals, and diversification to construct a balanced portfolio. Students will present their portfolio and explain the rationale behind their investment choices.
