Basics of Business mathematics- Calculation of simple Interest and compound Interest, Fixed and Floating rates of interest, Calculation of EMIs, Calculation of front end and back end interest.

Basic accounting procedure- Accounting Principles: Concepts and Conventions, double entry system. Record Keeping basics, account categories, debit and credit concepts, journalizing, Maintenance of cash/subsidiary books.

Ledger Posting and Trial Balance:  Ledger Posting- Preparation of accounts in ledger. Trial Balance- Meaning, need and importance, methods of preparing trial balance, Depreciation- Meaning, Need of charging depreciation, Methods- Straight line and WDV.

Bank Reconciliation Statement- Need for reconciliation between cash book and bank pass book, Problem relating to the preparation of Bank reconciliation statement. Bills of Exchange- Bills receivable and bills payable, Acceptance and Endorsement, Discounting, Retiring under a rebate, Dishonour and Renewal of bills.
