Overview of Human Resource Management- Concept of HRM, Functions of HRM, Emerging Roles of HRM, Challenges faced by HR Professionals, External and Internal Environmental Forces and Influences, Organization Structure and HRM


Employment of Human Resource- HR Planning at Enterprise Level, Need for Systematic planning, Planning Process, Operating Environment- Internal and External, Job Description, Recruitment and Selection, Strategic selection, Interpretation and Evaluation of Interview data, Employee Induction Programme.


Management and Development of Human Resource- Different elements of Performance Management, Process and Evaluation Techniques, issues and dilemmas, context and design model of system. Training and Development- phases of training, Training Need Analysis, Methods and Succession Planning


Industrial Relations- its approaches, participants in IR, Factors affecting IR, contemporary issues in IR, Employee discipline and Grievance Handling, Industrial Democracy, Trade Union- concept, functions, approaches and structure of Trade Unions


Future Trends in HR issues- Emerging horizons in HRM, Workforce Diversity, Employee Engagement, Employee Branding, and Gender Discrimination, TQM and Quality Circles, Kaizen (a brief knowledge), E-HRM Recruitment Techniques
