Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Examine the role of various financial institutions providing rural credit including NABARD and Microfinance Institutions towards Rural Development.
  2. Assess the role of agriculture in development of Indian economy.
  3. Evaluate schemes/ programmes    of central and state government related to welfare of rural and   tribal population
  4. Examine the causes of rural indebtness and appraise the present structure of rural credit especially the microfinance institutions providing rural credit.
  5. Evaluate the role of NGOs as well as Panchayati Raj system for rural development.
  6. Analyse the role of technology and impact of globalization in rural areas for sustainable rural development.
